Enabling DHCP on Network Adapter
Get to know more on how to enable DHCP on a network adapter
The DHCP or the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a networking protocol that assigns a computer with an IP address from a pool of addresses that are not yet taken up by other systems connected over the network. The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol in short is used to automatically assign each computer that is connected over a network with an IP address and its related parameters like subnet mask, gateway, etc. DHCP is used in networks at public places like libraries, campuses, etc. where a number of computers are connected and disconnected from a network in short time intervals. The automatic assigning of the IP addresses helps reduce IP configuration errors and reduces the workload of network administrators as most part is done by the protocol. DHCP is also more efficient in handling IP addresses and also supports short network updates to reduce errors. The system network adapter should be configured so as to support networks using DHCP technology.

Network Settings Menu
Users who are attempting to set DHCP on network adapters are advised to first login as system administrator. The users should open Control Panel after logging in with admin account. Control Panel is a menu where users are provided with options to change the working configuration of the system. The network settings menu should be opened by users to make changes in the DHCP settings of the adapter.
Select Desired Network Adapter
After opening the network menu, users should select the manage networks options to gain access to the settings of the available network adapters. The 'manage wireless adapters' options can be made use of to enable DHCP on wireless adapters. In the active window, a number of connections and adapters will be displayed along with their status and the users can make changes to the desired adapter by using 'Properties' menu which can be accessed via the right context menu.
The users should select the network tab from the ones displayed on opening 'Properties' menu of the selected adapter for changing the DHCP settings. The users should open 'Properties' menu of the TCP/IP 4 and should set both IP address and DNS server address as automatic to enable DHCP. Doing OS and restarting the connection or the system will enable DHCP on the set adapter. Repeat the procedure to set DHCP on other adapters in the system.
