Network IP address is a logical address that is given for any adapter on network. The IP address for each computer and other such devices are unique. With the help of this IP address, a network can identify and distinguish each device on the TCP/IP network. The routers on the network decide on the basis of this network IP address as to which computer the data should be sent. One of the main problems with the network IP is that it will continually changes the IP. Due to the network IP changing, a lot of problems may arise. Sometimes it may delete or empty the buffer of our browser at the time of browsing. Also, it may delete all the cookies and the preferences that you have saved on the browser. As a result of this IP changing, it will repeatedly display an error message saying that the network connection is failed at a regular interval of time.

IP changes with Internet and network
Network IP address may change in two ways i.e., either when connecting to Internet or when connecting to a network. At the time of connecting to internet, the local ISP only provides an IP address to our system. So, it is a common thing that ISPs are changing the IP addresses. But when you try to connect with a network, the router will obtain an IP address, which is provided by the built-in DHCP server. And if the lease time of IP address is very low, then a different IP address will be assigned to the computer.
Cause of IP changing
For all networks there should be a server which allows the IP addresses for each device connected on the network. The IP addresses are chosen by the DHCP server from a pool of IP addresses for a certain time period. So when each times we connect it to the network, it is not sure that the device will obtain the same IP address that is obtained in the last attempt. So it may change each time. If the lease duration of the IP address is very low or is set to expire on the same day, then also the IP may get changed.
By setting a ‘static IP’ address for your system, you can avoid the IP changing and the issues related to it. To set a static IP, first click on the ‘Start’ menu and then select ‘Control panel’. Now open the ‘Network connection’ menu by double clicking on it. Then right click on the ‘Local Area Connection’ and select ‘Properties’. Chose the ‘General’ tab and click on ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’ and then select ‘Properties’. Now choose the radio button ‘Use the Following IP Address’ and fill the details like, IP address as 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask as 255.255.255.0. Then select the radio button next to ‘Use the Following DNS Server Address’ and enter the DNS server information. Now click on ‘OK’ to save the settings. Now the static IP address is set.
