So enter the new password and save and exit from the website. Now restart the modem for the action to be taken in effect.
In some cases the default ”˜admin”™ password may not be accepted. So, we have to reset the modem to factory settings. For that, first shut down the PC and switch off and unplug the DSL modem from both PC and power cable. Then press and hold the ”˜Reset”™ button for 30 seconds. The button is located at the back of the modem next to either the AC power adapter or Ethernet port. Now reboot the system and connect the modem to the system. Now try to enter on the DSL manufacturer's website using the default ”˜admin”™ username and password.
To recover the password of DSL modem, first click on ”˜Start”™ and select ”˜Run”™. Enter 'cmd' on the text box. Then type 'ipconfig' on the black screen. Now note down the number listed by the word "Default Gateway" and close the command prompt. Now open the Internet browser and type the default gateway number on the address bar. Now it will ask for username and password, so enter both as ”˜admin”™. And then enter to the page and navigate to security tab. The password we are looking will be there. So now copy or write down the number.
