Fix Internal Dial-up Modem

An internal modem is a device, which is installed inside the desktop or laptop PC. This would allow the system to communicate in the network with other systems that are connected. Solve issues with drivers

In such situations, you need to reinstall the modem driver compatible with the modem and the OS present in system. Outdated drivers would also make issues. So, you need to update modem driver at the right time from the manufacturer’s website.
Check your BIOS settings
You need to check the BIOS settings. Firstly, you can restart the system to MS-DOS mode. Then at C:WINDOWS> prompt, you need to press keys 'Ctrl'+'Alt'+'S' repeatedly. It would give you the BIOS setup program. By pressing PgDn twice you need to go to page three. You would be in the 'Advanced Setup'. Setting of internal modem would be listed there. Make sure this setting is 2f8h. If that setting is disabled, modem could not work. After setting, you can then press 'Esc' and followed by pressing 'F4'. This would save the settings. Next, you would reboot the system.
It is seen that some of the problems could be removed by resetting the internal modem. You could do this by using the 'Device Manager'. Type 'devmgmt.msc' in Run. When it opens Device Manager, you need to look for modem there. Then you could click plus sign present next to Modems. You would then right click the modem and click Disable. The again right click the modem and click 'Enable'. This would make the modem firstly off and then on in the hardware level. This can solve the modem issue.
