Missed a surprise party or a trip with friends? It must be heartbreaking to sit at home alone when your friends are there having a blast. But here is a good news that will make sure that you never miss a thing. Microsoft has launched “We’re In”, an application for Windows Phone 7 (WP7) users that allows users to invite their friends via Bing to share their location and post status updates.
It is a group application where users must provide their mobile phone numbers to register and then choose friends or enter their numbers from their WP7 contacts. When invitees join, they share their location via Bing Maps. The users can then share where they want to meet and other details.
Invitees also receive a text message and can join their friends. However, people who are not using WP7 need not feel left out. Those friends will receive a text message and can join from the mobile website via the invite.
When friends join the “We're In”, their locations surface on the Bing Map with everyone who joined, and are able to see everyone's location.
Of course on the way, your tire may get punctured, or your mother might send you for an errand or your boss might just give you a call, but with this app users may also update their status to let friends know that they're on their way or are running late, among other details. It aggregates the status messages of everyone who has joined the meet-up.
God Forbids! What if someone is stalking you through your updates? You still don’t have to worry; “We’re In” has decent security measures. Users may also stop sharing their location info at any time by tapping "Leave" on the People tab. And when the invite expires, the shared location does as well.
So, anytime you want to have a good time and want your friend to be in, you got “We’re In”. For no reason you should miss out on your friends or your friends on you. With this app fun with friends is never-ending.
