Cisco, a name to be reckoned with in the networking arena, has come up with as many as three upgraded versions of its range of ASR 9000 Series routers(Aggregation Services Routers). This means that the new set of routers is designed to enable wireless carriers for deploying mobile services effectively. This also means that IPv6-ready routers are now available.
These new routing platforms will help service providers in improving connectivity and speed. The main motive behind this combined platform is to allow the carriers in delivering faster video, data and other mobile services.
The 128-bit successor of the 32 bit IPv4- IPv6 is very powerful and is getting immense popularity, especially among the service providers owing to its superior performance. The new strategy of simplifying the design and managing the services is also helping in taking the IPv6 problems off the table. There are nearly 500 service providers who have deployed Cisco’s nV(network virtualization) technology for their internet network.
Cisco says that the nV technology helps in lowering the overall operational costs owing to its low power usage. The technology offers zero-touch configurations, single touch point and click upgrades. Moreover, it also helps in reducing the capital expense owing to high port density and by offering more card slot per chassis. The network operations are even more simplified along with an overall expense reduction of 71%.
Cisco always has something better, upgraded and innovative for its clients and keeps on striving more to offer better products and best services.
