The Sirius 840 is expected to have all the advanced features that a modern router must carry. According to Snell, this router provides 576 x 576 video in 27RU chassis, which is very space efficient. It also has advanced audio processing feature.
Alan Smith, product manager of routers, Snell, said that with the addition of the Sirius 840, it can truly be said that the Sirius 800 series offers a strong router option for operations of any size and difficulty. He further added that the Sirius 840 is perfect for mid-size customers who need a little more functionality than cost-effective Sirius 830 288x288 router, and less price than the Sirius 850 576x1152 router.
Smith further said “As with any other Snell router, Sirius 840 customers can count on accessing all router options when they need them, rather than having to compromise on functionality as with other router manufacturers. And, just like the other 800 series routers, the Sirius 840 is 3Gbps-ready, with built-in capabilities to support today's formats and signal types as well as those of tomorrow."
Snell has also announced the release of Alchemist Ph.C-HD Version 6 motion compensated standards converter.
