ZyXel released its first dual-band, wireless N-router, NBG5715 offering 450 Mbps speed on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. After TRENDnet TEW-692, ZyXel NBG5715 is the only router offering the concurrent high-speed feature.
Contrary to the existing 300 Mbps dual stream routers, the new 450 Mbps routers transmit the signal in three spatial streams one at a time. The 450 Mbps standard is also known as 3 by 3. The 3 by 3 routers already exist with Linksys E4200 and NETGEAR N750 but they are limited to 5Ghz band. You can opt for a lower bandwidth for downloading and surfing light websites on your smartphone, and can switch on to a higher 5Ghz band for playing 3D games or watching HD movies.
"To ensure reliable wall-to-wall wireless connectivity throughout the home, the NBG5715 applies an innovative SmartRange technology, which pinpoints wireless clients like laptops and tablets and transmits directly to them. Further enhanced with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, the NBG5715 offers consumers all the latest connectivity options for their home. The NBG5715 also features top security features and 5 [IPSec] VPN tunnels for home office users."said ZyXel.
ZyXel NBG5715 not only excels in delivering high speed but also comes with two USB ports to allow you to share a printer and a storage device over the network, concurrently. It also consists of VPN tunnels for home and office users and a quick web interface so that you can steer through the advanced features of the router with ease. ZyXel's first dual-band printer can be purchased online or at authorized retailers for $250.
