They have to transfer important and sensitive information through these wireless networks. So, computers and networks must be provided with high security. Most of the routers will provide wireless security modes, such as WEP, WPA-TPIK, WPA-AES, WPA2-TPIK, WPA2-AES, etc. You can easily set-up a wireless security. For that, turn off the cable or DSL modem and then turn on the router. You have to connect the router to the modem and turn on the modem. Then, the wireless network wizard will access the router and establish the Internet connection. This will provide security to your data transferred through wireless router.

Choose the correct wireless security mode
For choosing correct se mode, you will need a wireless router owner's manual and access to wireless router. You have to set the wireless security settings in the wireless router. You can use the manual to set router security settings. If you have older model router, then you can only use WEP and WPA. Otherwise, you can use WEP, WPA, WPA-TPIK, WPA-AES, WPA2-TPIK and WPA2-AES. Then, set the wireless router to WPA2-AES. It provides high security. After that change the settings of wireless computers just like the routers settings and set a password for providing better security.
To set-up router
To set-up a router, you need to login to the routers set-up page. Then click on ‘Wireless’ tab and select ‘Wireless Security’. For using the password, select ‘Key 1’ and make the option 1 as ‘Default transmit key’. Select 24 bits or 64 bits for ‘WEP encryption’ according to your needs. Then, you may type the password on the ‘Passphrase’ and click ‘Generate’ button. Then, click on the ‘Save’ button.
If you are using wireless security mode, you need to remember that your encryption may get hacked because you cannot trust the encryption algorithm completely. You have to create a password for providing network security. You can make the password using numbers or words. Another thing that you have to keep in mind is that you need to avoid sending sensitive data, such as credit card number, password, etc. over a wireless connection.
