To begin the processes, plug the SMC Wireless Router to the power adapter to see the Power LED is turned ON. Next, connect Ethernet cable’s one end to WAN port of SMC Wireless Router and other to the modem’s Ethernet port. After that, power ON modem and router. After that, check the IP communication of modem and router. The automatic detection of computer and router begins at this point.

Open the web browser, type http://192.168.0.1 and then enter username as admin and leave password blank. After setting the time zone, select the option to handle IP address on the network. You may select Dynamic option as DHCP server or could select Static IP address. Next, you need to set wireless connection by changing the default SSID to match workgroup ID and reboot the router to finish of the process. It is also possible to change the default username and password to ensure more security.
You must install correct drivers for your system otherwise there may be problems with the network adapter and wireless connectivity.
