Allocate IP Address
The three methods of allocation are dynamic, static, and automatic allocation. In the dynamic allocation is allowing DHCP server to reclaim address which are not claimed, within a controllable time period. In the automatic allocation type, a permanent free IP address is assigned to client. In the static allocation DHCP, server assign address based on MAC address/IP address pair. You could choose any of these methods to allocate the IP address.
Configure Router to use DHCP
You need to login in to router settings by entering the username and password. Now, you need to proceed to the settings accessing various options according to the needs. There will be DHCP setting in it and enable the radio button to the router DHCP. Now go to DHCP settings. You will see the various users and the IP address. Navigate through the software setting to get the DHCP icon to turn on.
When configuring router, make sure that you entered correct IP address and subnet mask address. You may navigate through the default wireless settings by enabling DHCP server for IP address acquiring, changing the admin password accordingly, enter SSID name correctly, and use the automatic connection wizard. If there is any problem in password related issues do reset of the modem, and messing up of settings can be resolved using factory restore option.
